Shockwave Flash) update caused widespread panic with users of the web-based flash vSphere Client 6.x leaving them with a &#8220;Shockwave Flash has Crashed&#8221; message and no vSphere Client. The immediate fix is to downgrade Adobe Flash.<\/p>\n<p>VMware has released an official <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.vmware.com\/selfservice\/microsites\/search.do?language=en_US&amp;cmd=displayKC&amp;externalId=2151945\">KB 2151945<\/a> but it only provides instructions for Windows users.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Here&#8217;s how to fix for Mac users<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Go to<a href=\"https:\/\/helpx.adobe.com\/flash-player\/kb\/archived-flash-player-versions.html\"> Adobe&#8217;s Archived Adobe Flash Player versions<\/a> page.<\/li>\n<li>Scroll down to Flash Player Archives and download <strong>Flash Player 27.0.0.159<\/strong>\u00a0(released 10\/10\/2017) or use this direct <a href=\"https:\/\/fpdownload.macromedia.com\/pub\/flashplayer\/installers\/archive\/fp_27.0.0.159_archive.zip\">link<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Once the package is downloaded it should extract automagically. If it does not, extract it.<\/li>\n<li>Open the folder <strong>fp_27<\/strong> and sub-folder\u00a0<strong>27_0_r0_159<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Double click\u00a0<strong>uninstall_flashplayer27_0r0_159_mac.dmg<\/strong> to mount the image, and run the <strong>Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller<\/strong>. This should uninstall the existing Flash Player on your computer.<\/li>\n<li>You will need to close your browser(s) at this point. Bookmark this page for reference later.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>For users of\u00a0Firefox<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>After uninstalling, double click\u00a0<strong>flashplayer27_0r0_159_mac.dmg<\/strong> and then (re)<strong>Install Adobe Flash Player<\/strong>. Your browser(s) should still remain closed at this point.<\/li>\n<li>You will be prompted to select how you want Adobe to update Flash. Be sure to select <strong>Notify me to install updates<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Unmount the two disk images you mounted earlier.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>For users of\u00a0Chrome<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Delete the current flash version. Open <strong>Terminal<\/strong>, and run these commands:\n<pre>cd ~\/Library\/Application\\ Support\/Google\/Chrome\/PepperFlash\/\r\nrm -rf 27.0.0.170<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>Double click\u00a0<strong>flashplayer27_0r0_159_macpep.dmg<\/strong> and then (re)<strong>Install Adobe Flash Player<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>You will be prompted to select how you want Adobe to update Flash. Be sure to select <strong>Notify me to install updates<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Unmount the two disk images you mounted earlier.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<p>You should now be able to get back to work in VMware vSphere Client.
